"Breakfast Served All Day" might be the only thing some people need to know about Lakeview's latest brunch spot, but it's got plenty of other good things going for it. A large space with tall ceilings filled with light from the bay windows, the restaurant keeps the atmosphere sunny and the tables stocked with hot sauce and jugs of water. If there's a wait for tables or you're just stopping through for a snack, the pastry case to the right offers plenty of sweets to tempt.
If you're a stickler for lunch, there is a selection of hot and cold sandwiches with side and pickle for $7-$8. But the place doesn't serve breakfast all day for nothing. Decadence abounds in dishes like banana bread french toast (served with sides of hazelnut ganache and banana rum creme sauce) or a bacon waffle in maple syrup (both $9). Breakfast sandwiches include the Cinnamon Raisin, with chicken apple sausage, eggs, aged cheddar and maple syrup (with a side of house potatoes or cheese grits) for $8. And last but in no way least, a five-strip flight of bacon lets you sample down the line of jalapeno, honey, mesquite, maple pepper, and cherry smoked bacon slices for $5.
If you want to bring the kids out, Bakin' is ready for them as well - the kids menu offers a simpler breakfast burrito, buttermilk pancakes, ham sandwich or PB&J for $5 apiece, all with fresh fruit, so you don't have to worry about your young one's arteries (unless you get them their own bacon flight, of course).
Average cost: <$10
