Located in the same building as Portillo's Hot Dogs, Barnelli's diverse menu includes pastas, personal pizzas, ribs, sandwiches and meal-size salads. Even though it's in the middle of tourism central (spitting distance from the Hard Rock Cafe and the Rock 'n Roll McDonalds), it tends to attract a lunch crowd consisting mostly of local professionals. Patrons place their orders, receive a plastic card with a number, choose a table and wait for one of the roving waiters to bring their food.
The interior is done up with a slight 19th century frontier feel. There's a faux-barbershop and saloon couched in the upper right-hand corner (near the ceiling) as well as assorted antique-looking knick knacks placed sporadically throughout the restaurant.
