Everybody loves a bakery. Even your
grandma.
Oh, that's right, Bunz is a family-owned bakery, not a strip club (we made the same mistake) that specializes in Chinese-style buns ($1.39)—just as the name suggests! These might not be strip club buns, but they do taste amazing and, just as important, amazingly fresh. Bun flavors include BBQ, ham and cheese and coconut. Then try their soft and supple cookies (they're practically begging you to consume them), including chocolate chip, almond, oatmeal, cranberry and walnut and more (69 cents each). Muffins are just as good (though 10 cents more) and come in just as many flavors, including banana walnut, banana mango, blueberry, chocolate and, as you might expect, more.
After you're done making a pig out of yourself by chowing down on the buns, the cookies, the cakes and the muffins, in that order, wash it all down with their awesome, thirst-quenching smoothies; typical flavors include strawberry, banana mango, pineapple, blueberry and blackberry ($3 for one flavor, $4 for two). Nothing too crazy here, but you're guaranteed to go home satisfied. And isn't that what matters most?
Best of all, the service is impeccable. There's just something about bakeries that makes their owners and workers so darned nice, and Bunz is no exception.
Heck, they're probably better than most.
