When it comes to breakfast or lunch, Caffe Baci is a businessman's dream. A mini chain with five locations in the Loop, it's just as easy to take a breather from your cubicle in the bright and spacious seating area as it is to grab your food and run back to the office.
Caffe Baci's name clearly makes you believe it's Italian, but don't expect anything too original (as well as a number of dishes that aren't found in Italy). Grab a breakfast burrito to start your day, a flour tortilla stuffed with fluffy scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, sausage and cheese. For lunch, the Jojo panini is one of the more innovative sandwiches, with imported proscuitto, fresh mozzarella, marinated artichoke hearts, basil leaves and plum tomatoes on crusty Italian bread. Indecisive folk can order the tre insalate and choose three of the 18 salads daily-prepared for.
Your sweet tooth can be satisfied with any of the homemade brownies, blondies, cookies or lemon bars. Gelato is also available at this location, but subpar quality and freshness means you're better off sticking with the tasty baked goods.
