Walk into Double Apple, and you'll see a low-rise wall of glass blocks, and on the other side of the blocks is a mini-market filled with a variety of coffees, rice, couscous, pita bread, sweet treats and frozen homemade baklava. Wander a little further back, and you'll find a room with some hookahs for sale, and walk to the room behind there, and you'll find many comfy chairs and couches to sink into and an array of board games to play.
Head back to the front of the business, and order from the cafe's short but reliable menu while music from the Gipsy Kings pipes throughout. Pita pocket and panini-style sandwiches ($6.75) come made to order and can include chicken, turkey, roast beef, pastrami or veggies. A chicken pita pocket sandwich, is delicious, with the toasted pita bread providing a nice crunch. Meanwhile olive oil and oozing, melted provolone cheese zing with flavor. Cheese chips also come with the sandwich.
Also on the menu are cold appetizers ($6.75) such as hummus, babaganush, and a feta cheese platter. Soft drinks, smoothies and coffee drinks, including espresso and Turkish coffee, also round out the menu. The homemade, well-buttered baklava, made from phyllo dough and pistachios, is a tasty finale to a good meal at a reasonable price.
