Selected as the best breakfast spot by North Shore Magazine, Egg Harbor Cafe has the long lines to prove such a claim. Opened in 1985, you'll find a spacious and quaint interior (plenty of country style, complete with wooden tables).
The indecisive have been warned: The menu is a doozy. You'll find all sorts of egg dishes (the chefs use more than 50,000 eggs per week!) in the form of fritattas, scramblers (Joe's Healthy Scramber, with turkey sausage, is refreshingly delish), benedict, skillets, omelets or any-way-you-want-'em.
Prefer a stick-to-your-gut meal? Try the signature whole-wheat pancakes, cinnamon-roll French toast or taffy apple waffles. I'm partial to Shawna's Sun Up, vanilla and strawberry low-fat yogurt ladeled over berries, bananas and granola and topped with raisins, walnuts and apple slices.
Burgers, sandwiches and salads sate those who are looking for a quality lunch offering.
