Let's be honest. At 2 a.m. most of us aren't too discerning about our meals. But a late-night stop at El Cid will make you downright snooty about your after-midnight meal. The quality is top-notch and will never disappoint, whether you dine at noon or after a night of party-hopping.
Bask in bright, tortilla-yellow walls and swing your hips to Spanish beats while sipping on an El Cid specialty: frozen strawberry margaritas. Breakfast is served all day, from the classic huevos rancheros to a breakfast burrito swelling with fresh veggies, eggs and cheese (both $4.30).
Other mouth-watering selections include tostadas ($2.50), enchiladas (two for $7.95) and an old favorite, the cheese quesadillas: three delectable, perfectly crisp tortilla wedges stuffed with melted cheese for $7.50. Neighborhoodies flock to El Cid for the fish tacos ($9.95 for a dinner size), which are hefty in portion and rich in flavor.
There are plenty of veggie friendly options, including black bean soup and a veggie taco salad. The choices are endless, and El Cid does a sizeable catering business as well. Those closer to Logan Boulevard should try El Cid 2.
