Chicago is a place for pizza. Everyone knows this. Of course, with so many different places to choose from, and so many claiming to be the best, you can find yourself paralyzed by indecision when the question "where should we get some pizza?" is bandied about (even if you've already settled the deep-dish or thin-crust debate). Sadly, there is no definitive answer. Unless you want to embark on a journey to try each option for yourself, a journey fraught with great caloric peril.

Marcello's Father and Son Pizza has been around since 1947 (there are two other locations, in Lincoln Park and Northbrook). A place open for over half a century provides a good starting point for your pizza quest. Here, you can compare and contrast the intricacies of each popular style in one sitting (if your belt can handle it). Marcello's offers thin-crust, deep-dish, New York-style and gourmet pizzas. Prices range from $10.45 for a small thin-crust cheese pizza to $24.95 for an extra-large gourmet pizza. Extra ingredients are a couple bucks more on each size for each ingredient.

The rest of the menu is expansive, with a wide selection of chicken, ribs, steak, seafood and pasta. The menu proclaims the broasted chicken as "the best broasted chicken anywhere." Quite the b(r)oast, eh? The complete menu is available for delivery. If you venture there, ample parking is available.
