Sixty different kinds of pizza. Seriously. I shouldn't have to write more about this Lakeview gem. Stop by Fogo 2 Go and you'll see why it's about quantity and quality.
Fogo 2 Go does the standard pizzas really well. You can't go wrong with supreme, meat lovers, Hawaiian or pepperoni. They're made fresh, right before your eyes behind the counter, which seats about six. The space is on the small side with only a couple of tables for four, but the ingredients are big, bold and hearty — a welcome change to the familiar pizza chains' processed, artificial flavors. The hand-tossed crust is a wonderful marriage between crispy and doughy. And all of the pizzas are cooked in the enormous stone hearth, 650-degree oven. You can even see the flames from the nearby Diversey El stop. With so many pizzas to choose from, each one is a specialty pizza.
There are two sizes here — medium and extra large. Mediums go for about $13 and an extra large will run you about $18. But the real treat of this place is the sheer number of choices - pizzas of every make and model. Barbeque chicken, five-cheese, margherita, and much, much more. Ingredients like fresh shrimp, crab meat, cod fish and 10 kinds of cheese really set this place apart. And if you think of a new creation, the friendly staff will make it for you. Fogo 2 Go offers a great lunch and dinner option: two jumbo slices and a drink for about $6.
You can get chicken ($5.10-10.75) and salads ($6) here, but stick to the pizza and you shan't be disappointed.
Average cost: $10-$20
