There aren't a lot of items for sale at the Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafter at its tiny storefront bread shop in the Gold Coast, but the bread items are made with care and impress.
On the menu: chocolate muffins, croissants, chocolate croissants, powder sugar-topped apple turnovers, white chocolate bread, whole wheat bread, challah bread and country bread. Belgian coffee and cappuccinos also are available, but FYI: the Belgian coffee is more potent than your regular cup of Joe.
One standout is the white chocolate bread, which is soft, chewy, yummy white bread that gives way to the bread’s center of rich, creamy, delicious white chocolate and makes you want to come back for more. Bread is sold individually and by the half-loaf, quarter or eighth. The bread shop is run by owners Dominique Schewebach and Renaud Hendrickx, who also is a baker, after running a bakery in the Bahamas.
