Horizon Cafe is your classic diner. It's got the big booths, the corner-seat regulars and a menu that just won't quit (I mean it
really won't quit...there are seven pages). And just like any classic diner, it offers that homey, familiar feel, complete with the owner shaking your hand and asking how you enjoyed your meal.
While the vibe is classic diner, the menu is most atypical, featuring surprisingly fresh and non-greasy grub for generally less than $10. Breakfast is pretty standard, boasting a wide-selection of egg dishes, cereals, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches and—everyone’s favorite—a chicken and waffles combo.
Lunch and dinner are sure to stuff you just as well with loads of appetizers in the onion rings and egg rolls family, salads, sandwiches and burgers. The sandwich menu alone offers about 20 choices, (including a "phenomenal" ham and cheese sandwich), but if you still can't find what you're craving, you have about 20 more entree options to go. The selection ranges from salmon and fettuccini to grilled liver and spanakopita. If Horizon Cafe makes you a believer in food that is fresh, fast and cheap, you'll be glad to know that take-out and delivery services are available, too.
Average cost: <$10
