Hot Diggity Dog, indeed! This hot dog stand may look out of place among Streeterville's high-rise buildings—in fact, it kind of looks like a lean-to in a parking lot—but it's the ideal place for out-of-towners to order up a Chicago-style hot dog, complete with the relish and celery salt (or one with cheese or another topping) because of its proximity to some of the city’s most central hotels.
The menu, like Hot Diggity's exterior, is no-frills -- expect fast-food basics like fries and shakes and offerings like Italian beef sandwiches -- but sometimes, simplicity can be deceptively delicious. It can also be reasonable: The dogs are under $3.
Hot Diggity Dog isn't a scenic spot where you'll want to linger, but hot dangity dog if it doesn’t serve up a fast, cheap frank. Just don’t expect it to cure your weekend wiener cravings—Hot Diggity Dog closes early on Saturday and isn’t open at all Sunday.
