Keep your eyes peeled and your attention at full throttle when you're trying to find another one of Bridgeport's abundant hot dog stands, Johnny O's, which takes the expression "hole in the wall" and makes its completely literal – it's just a small window on the side of a building. When this reviewer dropped by for a visit, the attendant was sitting on the curb in his Johnny O's uniform, and if he wasn't clearly waiting for customers, that lil' hole could have easily been mistaken as just another hot dog-less window.

As for the food, Johnny O's offers the standard selection of plumper-than-average dogs (and chili dogs), hamburgers, fries and Polish sausage, as well as a delightfully gooey grilled cheese sandwich – if you're willing to push the limits in the oily and greasy departments. The usual toppings, like mustard and onions, can occasionally be seen scattered along Morgan Street, a sign that the regulars can grab their food and start hoofing, eating their messy lunch on the go. And when all is said and done, the price for a dog and fries ($1.99) may be cheapest deal in a part of town known for its ridiculously cheap deals.

The hot dog stand's bigger and far more visible counterpart is Johnny O's convenience store, worth mentioning in and of itself for Bridgeport's most exhaustive and extensive selection of 40-ounce beers and other sizes bigger than the wimpy 12-ounce affair.
