Located in a
Portage Park strip mall, Mr. Daniels offers a full menu of Polish and American favorites from Polish-style hot dogs to Kobe beef burgers.
We recommend the zapiekanki, a halved baguette topped with cheese and your choice of meat or veggies (consider it the Polish version of pizza). Mr. Daniels polish sausage is another popular pick, as are the pierogi. We're still not sure what fajitas and gyros are doing on the menu, but hey, it never hurts to have options.
The interior echoes that of any fast food joint, with the exception of a large black leather sectional propped near the shop's front window. The orange-hued walls create a warmer atmosphere than what you'd find at say, McDonald's, but the food comes out just as fast, and the prices are equally comparable.
Its strip mall locale makes parking a breeze and the Belmont bus is an easy option for those who'd rather let someone else do the driving.
