Opart Thai House has two other locations — there's an Opart on Western, and one in Wilmette — but South Loop residents rave about the sweet, hearty pad Thai (some of the best in the city, seriously) and tasty steamed shrimp dumplings served at its State Street location.
Featuring a considerable number of seafood options – including fried catfish, squid and shrimp dishes – Opart's menu also includes Thai standards like fried rice dishes and two types of pad Thai. The eatery also serves up several Thai curry dishes. Entrees include pad woon sen – sauteed bean threads, onions and eggs in tomato sauce with your choice of chicken, pork, beef or shrimp – and a stir-fried eggplant served in oyster sauce with basil, hot peppers and chicken, pork or beef.
If you choose to dine in, the restaurant isn't too big on ambiance but offers ample seating. However, if you're homeward bound, Opart does a brisk takeout business, too, for a mere $2 delivery charge.
