There's something to be said for a deli that serves octopus salad by the pound. Normally it's the kind of dish you'd have to lay down a heap of cash to enjoy in a decent restaurant, but thanks to Piatto Pronto, you can take the stuff and run. And the delicacies don't stop at the ocean. You'll find a ton of meaty choices on Piatto's sandwich and panini menu.
Cold sandwiches include a variety of regional-inspired names like The New Yorker (corn beef and swiss) and The Spanish Lover (imported Serrano ham, manchego and tapenade). Sandwiches can be ordered in 6 or 12 inches and prices range from $3.99-$7.99. And the selection of paninis sound just as interesting, with cheese and tomato Siciliano, the pork and baked ham La Bulita and the roasted ham La Rosemaria.
The deli also offers a selection of salads tossed with everything from hearts of palm to toasted pecans and sugar snap peas. If you can pull yourself away from the from the counter, you'll find shelves stocked with gourmet products, and a case full of imported cheeses. With Paticceria Natalina right down the street, this could be the best thing next to Little Italy.
Average cost: $10-$20
