Merged with a European coffee bar, this gallery allows for steady sipping while perusing a range of contemporary artworks. While a barista with an apron mans an espresso booth in the middle of the expansive back room, paintings, sculptures, drawings and montages fill the walls surrounding. The majority of the art on view is by owner, Marc Rubin; though there is a hearty array of paintings, sculpture, Giclée lithographs and photography by other artists. As a seasoned veteran of Pointillism, Rubin, who trained in Paris, also paints in the Impressionist, fauvist, cubist, and expressionist styles. Since fall of 2005, Rubin's "Sunrise on the Shore" (a Pointillist work) has been on loan to the White House. The gallery also features many examples of the relatively new art medium of artist-produced Giclee Lithographs; they are available in limited editions on archival paper and on canvas.
