The beautiful thing about diners is that they are always home to someone. There's always a regular or two that simply wouldn't know what to do with themselves if it weren't for that diner. Ted's is one of those places that has some of those people.

Now, there are things that vary from diner to diner. Ted's, for example, is homier than most and has a country-style decor often lacking in many of its wood-paneled, food-postered diner brethren. It's also impeccably clean. But, a diner is a diner is a diner. There's a long counter where the regulars sit to chat up the very, very kind workers. There are cozy booths snuggled against a wall. And, most importantly, there is cheap, quick food.

If it's a simple breakfast you're after, look no further, Ted's has you covered. You can have eggs, pancakes, waffles and even skillets, all offered for under $7. That'll make you think twice about standing in line for an hour on a Saturday morning in the city to pay $12 for an egg and some seasoning.

Then there's lunch - sandwich classics like hot dogs, burgers and clubs are all present and accounted for. There are also a few dinner options, but, like most great diners, Ted's knows that a diner's real place in the world is anytime before 3 p.m.
