The first thing that struck me upon entering Tiffin is how upscale the place is. There’s a full and beautiful lounge-like bar at the entrance and then, where I’d least expect it, the ceiling opens up into an oval mural of sky and clouds. The lighting is surreal, with strange prisms of purple, pink, green and blue. It’s as if the designer decided that Tiffin should resemble heaven as much as possible. Indeed, there’s a certain calm within Tiffin’s confines that doesn’t exist in very many places along Devon Avenue. The food receives rave reviews from some, while others feel that the atmosphere is what truly defines the place. In any event, its prices are surprisingly reasonable (entrees are $10-$15) considering that it’s probably the most chic restaurant on Devon.
Average cost: $10-$20
