Got a favorite fast food joint? Is it Burger King? McDonald's? Jimmy John's? Red-headed Wendy's? Well, forget about all of those crappy chain spots and introduce yourself to Yango's Grill in Lakeview.
Because essentially that's what Yango's is—a local fast food joint that, quick though it is, caters to your needs as a customer above all else. It might not have the high-falutin' production values of, say, a Happy Meal or a Jerry Bruckheimer film, but what it lacks in dollar-signs-via-decor, it more than makes up for in meaty, tasty, juicy hamburger goodness and fully-accommodating service from the dazed-looking gentleman behind the counter.
Speaking of burgers, take a bite out of the 1/3-pound hamburger, double cheeseburger, 2/3-pound giant burger, mushroom burger, bacon cheeseburger, gyros burger, turkey burger or feta cheeseburger ($3.45-$5.95; $1.85 extra with fries). Then there's the gyros sandwich, chicken gyros sandwich, gyros platter and chicken gyros platter ($5.45-$10.95). On the hot dog side of things, try the Chicago style hot dog, the charbroiled dog, the cheddar dog and the Maxwell St. Polish ($2.45-$3.75). Dinners include fried chicken, the shrimp basket, two pork chops, two chicken breasts, ribeye steak and chop steak, all served with side salad, garlic bread and fries ($9.95-$12.75). Also on the menu are the Italian beef items ($4.35-$6.95), grilled cheese items ($2.95-$4.95) and a variety of sides ($1.85-$3.50).
Yango's Grill has food that's cheap and tasty, and an outdoor area for you to enjoy it. What more could you ask for in a non-chain fast food restaurant? Besides free money giveaways or something.
