Formerly: Your Kitchen aims to fulfill those peculiar nights when, as its website puts it, you don't feel like cooking, but going out is too much work. Named Your Kitchen because that's how the owners want you to think of the place, this little cubby hole of a store specializes in prepared comfort food, ready to go after a few minutes simmering in the oven or the microwave. For the even lazier, there's take-out appetizers and entrees, too.
Your Kitchen's menu is brief and extremely meat-friendly; on the prepped to-go side, smoky chipotle chicken corn casserole is the sole veggie entry. But carnivores should be delighted to see plenty of chicken chicken pot pie, Tuscan chicken breast (stuffed with mozzarella and spinach), and chicken divan, with cheddar cheese and broccoli - all priced from $7-$8. Take-out options revolve mostly around sandwiches, like the tequila marinated chicken or the slow-roasted pulled pork sandwich. There are also a couple of salads that are most definitely not for throwing into the microwave. A few appetizers expand what your actual kitchen could ever provide, with Reuben hush puppies and spicy house-cut fries both asking to be smuggled into a bar.
Your Kitchen is strictly a take-out joint and there's certainly not enough space to stand inside the kitchen's tiny, barely-enough-room-for-a-window storefront; but there is one exception. Since the kitchen is located just behind neighborhood favorite Lizard's Liquid Lounge, the friendly staff will be happy to make the long journey to Lizard's and deliver your food if you're willing to eat in the lounge.
