Named after the last letter in the British alphabet and the degree of fahrenheit at which combustion begins, Zed 451 offers a wide range of food and drinks for one (high) price ($49 for dinner, $24 for children six to 10). Be sure to come hungry; your prix-fixe meal can include any and all of the following; try the citrus salmon with orange, lemon and lime zest, goat cheese-encrusted rack of lamb, slow-roasted short ribs with house-made horseradish cream sauce and Mediterranean chicken breast marinated in olive oil, citrus zest and fresh herbs all made over an open charcoal fire pit. Harvest Tables are centered in the dining room, offering up house-made soups (like Thai cucumber coconut), artisanal cheeses, salads (like the strawberry rhubarb spinach variety) and side dishes (including roasted Pineapple with brown sugar, orange juice and peppercorn). You can make a meal from the Harvest Table alone for $26.
The after-work crowd flocks to the 451 Lounge to sip on cocktails like the cucumber sage martini mixed with lemon and Hendrick's gin, Gingered Bourbon Lemonade made with citrus-infused Woodford Reserve small-batch bourbon, and the kiwi strawberry martini with Reyka vodka and house-made sour mix. The lounge area has a double-sided fireplace surrounded by leather seating. Adjacent is a glass-ensconced wine room with an intimate table in the center and a custom-made chandelier featuring 140 wine glasses. There's also a 12-seat wine bar. A staircase leads to the rooftop, where up to 120 people can enjoy great views of the cityscape above and below. A party room is available on the second level with access to the rooftop.
