Built in 1963 as a private enterprise by entrepreneur and golf expert Herman Schwinge on what had been a sod farm, Four Winds Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling country west of Mundelein. A multitude of mature trees line narrow fairways from tee to green. The front nine features long par 4s and two traditional par 3s at 200 plus yards. The back side offers a pleasing variety of holes that demand long and precise placement of tee balls to create good scoring opportunities. After your round, enjoy a a frosty glass of beer, a sandwich fresh off the grill and let the staff fill you in on the storied past of this rustic course.
