With 27 holes, Midlane Country Club in north suburban Wadsworth offers guests plenty of challenges on a well-manicured golf course. Built in the 1960s, the original 18 holes is a mature layout that features very fast, sloping greens requiring pinpoint approaches in to order to stay below the hole. Holes 19 through 27 opened in 1995 and present a more modern look and feel. A huge tract of marshy wetlands borders the western and southern reaches of the course. A traditional clubhouse, well-stocked pro shop, and excellent practice facility cap off the amenities available at Midlane, site of the 1987 Illinois Open.
