Description
As the story is told, Plum Tree National was built in the mid-60's by Chicago politicians as a getaway oasis in McHenry County's rolling countryside.

Maturing gracefully, this Joe Lee design is one of Chicagoland's hidden secrets. Well-maintanied tees and fairways, true greens and a picturesque layout make for an interesting and enjoyable golf excursion. New plantings, mixed with the older indigenous trees, ensure the course will develop even more character in years to come.

Number 8, bending right to left across water, is terrific par 4 that tempts the player to bite off too much. No. 7 is one of the best mid-length par 3s around.

The small pro shop is well-stocked with a great selection of logo apparel and choice equipment; not too mention a bottomless bin of free, plum colored tees.
