From the Centerstage Theater Channel, here are a few theater-related options for Valentine's weekend:

"Letters/X Part 2" by GroundUp Theatre

GroundUp Theatre offers a cabaret style performance piece consisting of actual love (and hate) letters from the Chicago area. The show will be performed at the Hungry Brain bar located at 2318 W. Belmont; admission is free. A fun and cheap date.

"Make TUTA Your Sweetheart" benefit for T.U.T.A. (The Utopian Theatre Asylum)
Saturday, Feb. 12 from 8 p.m.-midnight
This gala evening is a season fundraiser benefiting The Utopian Theatre Asylum. Expect desserts, all you can drink coffee and wine, as well as music, dancing, raffles, and more. The benefit is $25 per person, $40 per couple in advance (call (773) 680-0826) or $30 per person, $50 per couple at the door. The evening will take place at T.U.T.A. space at the Fulton Carroll Center, 2032 W. Fulton.

"Closer Than Ever" by Porchlight Music Theatre Chicago
Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 & 12 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Feb 13th at 3 p.m.
If a late night out on Monday isn't your style, check out this cabaret-type musical revue on Friday-Sunday on Valentine's weekend. Porchlight Music Theatre Chicago, who brought you the smash hit "Sweeney Todd" this fall, is now offering this comedy about love and relationships for "middle aged" couples. Presented at Theatre Building Chicago at 1225 W. Belmont; tickets run from $27-$30. For tickets, call (773) 327-5252.

"Naked Boy Singing" by the Bailiwick Repertory
Friday, Feb. 11th at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 13th at 8 p.m.
In time for Valentine's day, this loud, proud show celebrating male nudity is offering a 2-for-1 ticket special for those looking to take their sweethearts to some slightly spicier entertainment. Two people get in for $37 on Friday, Feb. 11th, and for $32 on Sunday, Feb. 13th. For tickets, call (773) 883-1090. Performances at the Bailiwick Arts Center, 1229 W. Belmont.

Friday Feb. 11th and Saturday, Feb 12th at 11:30 p.m.; Sunday Feb. 13th at 7 p.m.
For the night owl lovebirds among us, the long running experimental hit "Too Much Light…" is offering a special Valentine's Day edition of the show on Valentine’s weekend. Tickets are $7 plus the amount given by a roll of a six sided die. Theatergoers are encouraged to come in costume; they may be rewarded with candy.
