Tradition is tradition, and it never feels cozier than during the holidays. Just give in, and hearken to the tale of Scrooge. Centerstage could recommend Chicago's biggest "Christmas Carol" (at the Goodman) or its snappiest ("The Hipmas Carol" at Raven Theatre), but instead, we'll call your attention to the smallest. Michael Halberstam's one-man version of the Dickens holiday juggernaut, in its twelfth year, will play for just four performances. This radically stripped-down version will help you remember what makes this story great, from "Marly was dead" to "God bless us, every one."
