Mexico's theatrical culture is vibrant, exciting... and largely invisible in Chicago. For the next five weeks, Halcyon Theatre is taking some steps to remedy this situation with its fifth Alcyone Festival, an annual event that focuses on female playwrights. This year, the focus is on women from Mexico, with a rotating repertory of translated works by Elena Guiochins, Sabina Berman, Mariana Hartasánchez and Bea Carmina.
