Founded in 1983, this Lake county non-profit professional theater company has been chosen the North Shore's "Best Live Theatre" by readers of North Shore Magazine and The Pioneer Press (two years running) and has won 12 Joseph Jefferson Awards (56 nominations).
It performs a variety of theater, ranging from new to popular works (past productions include The Rothschilds, Waiting for Godot and The Baker's Wife. A 2006 move down the road has cut capacity a bit (from 130 seats to 97) for even more intimacy, and places theatergoers on all four sides of the stage. The season usually runs from September to June.
Various restaurants (both Quiznos and classier faire), boutiques, and the inevitable Starbucks are located withing easy walking distance at a nearby mall.
