Located in Uptown/Buena Park just north of the Irving Park boundary of Lakeview, this theater has been host to countless productions by itinerant theater companies. The space has unusually large and comfortable seats for a storefront theater, and when not obscured by a set, there are some very interesting architectural features including a stonework clock set in one of the walls.
Parking in the area is pretty brutal, but the space is easily accessible by public tranportation- the Sheridan Red Line is the closest, and the Broadway bus runs right by the building. For food and drink before/after a show, the best option is probably Bar on Buena (located west on Buena at the Broadway/Buena intersection); occasionally a theater group producing at National Pastime has offered dinner packages there. There's also a ton of bars clustered around the intersection of Irving Park and Sheridan roads.
