The home of the Strawdog Theatre Company is located at the north edge of Lakeview, up a steep and narrow stairway. For coffee fiends, there's a Starbucks just a little bit further north, and a Mexican restaurant is right next to the entrance. Though the sign (with the logo of a howling dog) can be a little easy to miss- it's prominent, but is also surrounded by a bunch of other brightly lit signs, so keep an eye out if you're driving.

The lobby is pretty small once you get up the stairs, but the decent sized three quarters thrust space makes up for it. Strawdog and its Ensemble have built a reputation over the years for their strong ensemble pieces, with include classics, contemporary drama and even the occasional bluegrass musical (though they tend to frown on more classical musicals being done there.) Other companies also rent the Strawdog space- it seems especially to be a favorite venue for improv and sketch comedy groups.
