This library is the perfect place to lurk away an afternoon, due in no small part to location half-a-mile from the L and its powerful air-conditioning. Sulzer offers a large selection of books and magazines to sit with or check out, plus a formidable multimedia section comprised of records, CDs and videos. The second floor is especially striking, with its high, industrial ceiling and abundance of natural light. It’s always bustling but rarely overcrowded, and the staff is friendly and attentive.
There are events scheduled every month. Look for “Films of Fridays,” at 11 a.m., and grip of other free activities for kids and adults that aren’t always book-centric. Don’t try to sneak in snacks or beverages, though, as you’ll likely be asked to throw them away.
