| Born in Stockholm, Sweden on April 28, 1941, Ann-Margret lived in the small Swedish village of Valsjobyn until she left for the U.S. at the age of five and settled in Wilmette. She attended nearby Northwestern for a year, but left to pursue acting in 1960. She has appeared in nearly 50 movies (including A Streetcar Named Desire (where she received a Golden Globe award and an Emmy nomination), Pocketfull of Miracles, Bye-Bye Birdie, and Viva Las Vegas, Carnal Knowledge, Tommy, Pretty Woman, and Grumpy Old Men.
Twice nominated for Academy Awards, and Four times for Emmys, she is a three-time recipient of the United Motion Picture Association's "Female Star of the Year" award. For more information, visit their website: http://www.ann-margret.com
