| Formely known as the Elgin Community Theatre, they were founded in the spring of 1952 as an evening adult education class at Elgin Theatre Company, this company has consistently been one of the best west suburban community theatres. Originally supported by ECC, the group has been an independent not-for-profit corporation since 1970. Among the hundreds of plays performed over the past 45 years, are Bus Stop, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Cane Mutiny Court Martial, South Pacific, The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Cinderella, On Golden Pond, Steambath, The Fantasticks, and Marvin's Room. While fairly mainstream, the group doesn't usually perform children's or classic works. For more information, visit their website: http://www.elgin-theatre.org/
