Harrison Ford

[PHOTO] This Chicago-born Mega Star is on his way to becoming a Hollywood Legend, and one of the Siver Screen's few actors over fifty who has retained his real hair. Way to go, Harrison. Ford's big break came with a little known director named George Lucas and his film American Graffiti (1973) and later, Lucas' follow-up film Star Wars, which catapulted Ford out of obscurity through his portrayal of cocky star-fighter, Han Solo. Looking back, Ford notes that he considers Han Solo a rather shallow character and much prefers his role as Indiana Jones in the Lucas/Spielberg blockbuster trilogy starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). The public's affinity for Ford as the snake fearing archeologist solidified Ford's status as an A-list Hollywood actor who has starred in three of the top ten all-time grossing films. (That's if you count his small cameo in ET, which ended up on the cutting room floor).

Ford went on to show his acting versatility through his role a hard-boiled cop softened by the Amish ways of Kelly McGillis in Witness which garnered Ford an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, and the award-winning remake, The Fugitive (mostly shot in Chicago). Harrison's still going strong, demonstrating his continuing box office appeal in Air Force One (1997) and well... we'll just list Ford's involvement in Six Days, Seven Nights (1998) as a temporary lapse of judgment. Everyone's entitled.
