| Founded in 2002 by David Cerda and Steve Hickson, Hell in a Handbag Productions is a company that produces new works which draw heavily on pop culture and the camp aesthetic both to parody and pay homage to their sources. Working from a diverse ensemble of artists, the company has also gained attention outside the Chicago area (their show Poseidon: An Upside-Down Musical was very well received at the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival.)
