| Collaborative artistic collective founded in 1983 by 5 Northwestern University graduates dedicated to the production of original works adapted from fiction and non-fiction. The artistic ensemble is now comprised of fifteen artists, writers, actors, and directors; we have four full-time and three part-time staff members; and over 200 free-lance artists work at Lifeline during the course of a season. Over the years Lifeline has worked with such well-known authors as Madeleine L'Engle, Daniel Pinkwater, Ursula K. LeGuin, Melissa Fay Greene, and Louise Erdrich as well as adapting such classics as Pride and Prejudice, Vanity Fair, Purloined Poe, Jungle Book, Chaos, Jane Eyre, Dracula, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Story of Ferdinand, and Mr. Popper's Penguins. The group has a permanent performance site in Rogers Park. For more information, visit their website: http://www.lifelinetheatre.com
