Light Opera Works

Company launched in 1981 with a performance of H.M.S. Pinafore remains Chicago's most consistently pleasant and affordable source of 19th and 20th century musical theater, with full orchestra and large cast.

The Chicago Sun Times calls it "... a professional operetta company that's spirited, capable, great fun to watch, and a treat to hear... with a knack for the work of Sir Arthur Sullivan and Sir William Gilbert." (Past Gilbert & Sullivan favorites performed by LOW include The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, and Ruddigore.

Most of their performances are at Northwestern's Cahn Auditorium. The Light Opera Works box office is located at 927 Noyes in Evanston. For more information, call them at 847.869.6300; their fax number is (847)869-6388. Their offices are located at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, alongside Piven and Next Theatres and the Actor's Gymnasium.
