Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio

Born November 17, 1958 in Lombard, Illinois, this Oak Park Resident has appeared in many feature films, including My Life So Far (1999), Limbo (1999), Two Bits (1995), Three Wishes (1995), White Sands (1992), Consenting Adults (1992), Class Action (1991), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991, Marian), Fools of Fortune (1990), The Abyss (1989, Lindsay Brigman), Januar Man (1989), Slamdance (1987), The Color of Money (1986), and Scarface (1983, Gina). She stars in the recent John Sayles-directed Limbo, as a singer in Alaska.

The Oak Park native was apprehensive about her role in The Perfect Storm as fellow swordfishing boat captain Linda Greenlaw because of her previous work in water in the 1990 film, The Abyss. Damned to be thrown into water at all, Mastrantonio insisted on playing her part while in the cabin of her fishing boat.

She was listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1986" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 38.
