(Journalism/Photography Intern) This aspiring journalist and photographer is magnetically attracted to asserting her views, whether on Kodak paper or in print. Instead of rendering one a hobby, she decided to pursue both forms of self expression. Thus, prior to becoming a part of the Centerstage team, Yana performed a balancing act of captivating photographs and equally evocative prose for various magazine and newspaper articles.
If you asked Yana which of the world's corners feels like home, she might hesitate. The native Bulgarian, Elmhurst dwelling, London (UK) ex-intern and Madison, Wis., scholar has trouble remembering what latitude and longitude to go to next. However, taking the pictures which will grace Centerstage's Web site, as well as analyzing the daytime and nightlife scenes of Chicago, remind her there is room for only one city love in her life.
Although she will finish her Honors Journalism Bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison shortly, she hopes to bind herself to Chicago area Northwestern University for a masters and beyond. She also wouldn't mind forging a photography or journalistic career at a publication of her choice, even if this leaves her inhabiting a pile of week-old newspapers in a Cabrini-Green ditch.
