Raised in Raleigh, NC, Ed moved to the Chicago area to attend Northwestern University's theatre program. Since graduating summa cum laude in 2003, he has been constantly active in the Chicago theatre community as an actor, director, cabaret artist, and writer.
As an actor, recent work has included By Jeeves with Illinois Theatre Center, The Cradle Will Rock with White Horse Theatre Company, The Music Man at Drury Lane Oakbrook, 'Jack' in Into the Woods with Buffalo Theatre Ensemble, Around the World in 80 Days with New American Theatre, and the Feathers in the Wind workshop at Chicago Jewish Theatre. This past summer he appeared in The Comedy of Errors and Arthur Miller's All My Sons with Oak Park Festival Theatre. Ed's cabaret show, If You Can Find Me, I'm Here, has played at Davenport's Piano Bar. Currently, Ed performs in children's shows with American Eagle Productions, and has performed on The Spirit of Chicago cruise ship at Navy Pier. He looks forward to performing in Sockspeare this summer, as well as understudying The Water Coolers at the Lakeshore Theater. Ed is also an ensemble member of Promethean Theatre Ensemble.
As a director, credits include The Baltimore Waltz, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Sylvia, Slasher Sleepover, and his adaptation of Peter S. Beagle's story Come, Lady Death. He will direct Christopher Durang's Beyond Therapy in fall 2006 for Promethean Theatre Ensemble.
