Garin Pirnia was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, home of the Breeders and Robert Pollard. After toiling aimlessly in LA for five years working on a lot of canceled TV shows, she moved to Chicago in 2004 to pursue a writing career. Despite having her car towed periodically, seeing a dead body and being homeless twice, Chicago has been good to her. She currently contributes to Time Out Chicago, Chicago Innerview, Radio Free Chicago, New City and My Open Bar, to name a few. When she's not writing, you can most likely catch her at concerts and open bars around town. She dreams of the day when she can retire to the South and France with Sufjan Stevens.
