John "Sloop" Biederman is the Stand-Up Poet and Nightclub Emcee/Promoter/Producer Extraordinaire. He's been featured everywhere from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles to the Chicago Comedy Festival; as longest-running nightclub variety show host in Chicago for the Flabby Hoffman Caravans (live and rebroadcast on CAN-TV 19 Thursdays, 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. on the "Hoffman" show) and co-host of the corresponding Internet radio show (http://FearlessRadio.com, Thursdays 7-10 p.m.) and has appeared on WGN Morning News, WLUP-FM and more. He is the founder of two sketch comedy troupes and was the 1999 National Poetry Slam Limerick Champion. He's an award-winning humor writer and "News Poet" for publications including MAD Magazine and the Chicago Tribune's RedEye and runs the popular humor blog, Daily Limerick (http://www.DailyLimerick.net), since 1999. His latest endeavors are Sloop Biederman's Mess, a live/Webcast talk/variety show in Chicago, and seeking literary representation for his book, Stand-Up Poetry (with poems and cartoons).
