This Evanston yoga program is operated by the husband-and-wife team of Lela and Nick Beem. Their classes emphasize breathing, mindfulness and alignment-conscious flow in the Kripalu Tradition, with meditation at the end of each class. Classes take place in the holistic environment of the Heartwood Center.
Nick and Lela also offer Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, a a body-centered psychotherapeutic practice that blends supported, passive yoga stretches with present moment awareness and simple, non-directive dialogue. It is like a particle accelerator for self-discovery and healing.
