The Inner Light Studio is really less of a place and more of a person. While Cindy Minalt does use her apartment as a studio, most of her work occurs during visits to people's offices and homes and occasionally parks or rented studios.
Classes: Minalt's foremost specialty is private-practice yoga, featuring one-on-one time with each client. Yoga was the first Eastern discipline Minalt learned after working in Western medicine for a few years. "I didn’t find in Western medicine people were very compassionate," she says. "I'd go so far as to say yoga saved my life." Yoga classes cost $80 for a single session or five classes for $375, and can be done wherever you feel most comfortable. Minalt says most of her clients like the privacy and comfort of their own homes. She often does wellness and life coaching, basically helping people get on the right health path.
Extras: After teaching yoga for a bit, Minalt decided to learn hypnotherapy, another service she now offers. She says the practice is truly misunderstood, and it's really just an extension of yoga, a meditative state with a goal, like stopping smoking or reducing stress. Each "goal" requires a different amount of sessions, which vary in length depending on the individual's openness to the practice. These cost $95 per session or $475 for six sessions.
Minalt has also studied Thai Massage, a practice linked to yoga. In fact, its nickname is "the lazy man's yoga" (a term Minalt isn't fond of), and it's often described as having yoga done to you. Thai massage appointments are $80 per session or five for $375.
